Rugby photos for contents page

I went to a rugby game between Chew valley sixth form and Norton Hill to take some photos for my contents page. They are good action shots but slightly blurry.

Front Cover Inspiration

I want to create a magazine cover similar to this one. A lot of rugby magazines have a dark background, this helps to create a masculine, hard man mood. They usually have one player who is the main feature of the front cover, the image of this player usually dominates the page because each issue usually focuses on a player. The Rugby world magazine’s always have their title in red this enables the magazine to be instantly recognisable to the audience. The red of the title ties in well with the red on the featured rugby player’s shirt. The magazine uses a black yellow white and red colour scheme, the yellow is used to highlight key features. The “king” text is as big as the “Rugby World” title this draws your attention to it as it is unusual to have text that big.

The difference between the two is the little flicks on the end of the letters.

Sans serif fonts are easy to read on a computer screen, they still look good when reduced in size and they look good on all platforms and browser. They are more of a Gothic style. Commonly used for headings.
Serif fonts are easier to read in printed material such as books and newspapers. They are a more Roman style. Commonly used for the main text.

Connotations and Dennotations

Connote: the aspects of an element of a clip that have a symbolic or representative meaning about the person, group, place or thin.

Denote: The things which literally represent what that person/people/thing is.
